Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a manual therapy technique that focuses on pain believed to arise from myofascial tissues (the tough membranes that wrap, connect and support your muscles). Myofascial release is often used to treat Myofascial Pain Syndrome, a chronic pain disorder caused by sensitivity and tightness in your tissues. Your therapist will gently massage the myofascia and feel for tight and tense areas. Normal myofascia should feel pliable and elastic. The therapist will begin to massage and stretch the areas that feel rigid with light pressure and then will begin to aid the tissue and supportive sheath in releasing pressure and tightness. This will be repeated multiple times on the same trigger point until the tension is fully released. |

Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is a hypersensitive nodule or "knot" within a taut band of tissue that can refer pain. A trigger point often refers pain or sensation to another area of the body. For example a trigger point in the traps may cause pain to radiate to the head, causing a headache. Trigger points can be caused by lack of nutrients in the tissue, overuse of a muscle through exercise, repetitive motions or an injury such as a strain to the muscle/fascia. Your therapist will apply sustained pressure on the trigger point until it releases. This method, also known as ischemic pressure, causes the blood to flow away from the tissue and once the pressure is released the blood flow will rush back into the tissue/muscle, drawing all of the nutrients back to that specific area. |

Reflexology
Reflexology is a type of manual therapy that involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet and hands. It is believed that different areas- known as reflex points- correspond to specific organs of your body and bodily systems. When applying pressure to these points, it can offer a range of health benefits such as pain reduction, stress relief, improved digestion, treat nerve problems and numbness from certain medications, clear up sinus issues, enhance circulation and ease arthritis pain. Craniosacral
Sacral massage, referred to as craniosacral therapy, is a form of alternative treatment. It aims to give relief from tension from the spinal cord and head. Sacral massage promotes the body's functions beginning with the head and spine.
